Although Indiana has been a state for nearly 200 years, our legislature still adopts dozens of new laws each year. Haven't we enough laws? Why do we need new laws? For this assignment, first find Indiana Code 9-21-8-59. Then, answer the following questions:
1) Summarize the main points of the statute.
2) How does this law affect you as an individual?
3) How does this law affect businesses in Indiana?
4) If someone were accused of violating the law, what kind of case would it be - state or federal? public or private?
5) Do you think this statute is a good law? Do you think it is an effective law? Explain your answer.
